Multikulti

There're many things deserve to be talk about. Last couple of weeks were to much full "echt völlig"!
But before I start telling, I noticed something quite new.. I started mixing between English and German!
I didn't see this coming and many times I find it hard to finish some sentences without putting some German words! Despite the confusion, I think it's a good sign! I'm looking to a day, when my Deutsch gonna beat my English! :D ohh mein liebes Deutsch! 

Also.. Haus der Geschichte Baden-Württemberg!

My language classmates and I had the chance to visit the House of Baden-Württemberg History. The teacher was our tour guide...just like the kids in the third class :P

In advance I'm sad to announce, that there're no pictures! It was forbidden .. Yep, the most hateful policy of almost all museums! :-/ Anyway I took some pictures from outside..better than none!

No matter all, the museum is so nice. Again the language barriers kill the fun. I mean there're a lot to learn and read about the history of this state. The museum is very very well designed and really amazing, however you fell petty that you are not able to gather that much of information .. :(

The museum doesn't only give you an idea about the Baden-Württemberg history, but also reflex in a small picture the history of whole Germany.

On of the most inspiring -also amazing- sections of the museum was the section that represents the Badner revolution "Badische Revolution" and also to what's known as revolutionary unrest "revolutionären Unruhen". The related section of the museum if full of hanging leaflets "e-Flugblätter" and the floor of the room is made of unfixed paving floor to make you actually feel how 'unrest' that period of time was!

To finish this topic, I think it deserves to give a little comment about a social issue concerning the different between Baden & Württemberg!

Hmm.. it's easy to repeat what the teacher said about this: The Badner are more lavish in their lifestyle "aufwendig", while Württemberger are more hardworking "fleißig".
It's about cultural differences, where man can find variation from city to city anyway.
This traditional Swabian poem reflect the social thinking here in Württemberg, which is really close to the Yemeni thinking:

Schaffe, Schaffe, Häusle baue = Working, Working, build a house

Und net nach de Mädle schaue =  & then look for a girl

Jeder Mann dreht sich auch gerne = every man would revolve 

Mal nach hübschen Mädchen um, = about a beautiful girl, 

Doch ich trau mich nicht = but I don't dare

Und sag auch gleich warum: = & I'll tell why:

Weil bei Tag und bei Nacht = because by day by night

Sommer Festival der Kulturen 14

Summer Festival of Cultures Stuttgart 2014 from 15-20 July was so much fun! I danced more that I've danced in my whole life!! really..it's totally new for me to attend AND dance as well. 

During the fives days there were 11 different bans from many countries. I went in 3 days and danced in 2 other days...till sweating :D

Beside the music you can eat various dishes from many countries...it was a 'hot Multikulti spot' for 5 days. 
In the first day there I went with my classmates and I also met another people for a meetup meeting!
next day was with participants of ifa plus program workshop for participants from Tunisia, Yemen and Egypt.
Third day was with Anna, Amos, Olfa, Marwa, Joseph and other friends we met there as well.
Amazing!

Finally I'd like to share this video for Volker & me.

I got to know Volker Jäger through Olfa. We had a lovely meeting on dinner all together plus Maisoun. He played later with his "Handpan"! I've never seen such a thing before... once you see it for the first time, you say: Haaaa!! What is this?  o.O !!

Then you'll become astonished *_* !! How beautiful the music is! Volker plays it as hobby, but he is really a PRO! 

Just listen...and have a nice weekend "schönes Wochenenede"! :) 

 

Hamburger Fischmarkt 2014

Today I visited Hamburger Fischmarkt 2014 in Stuttgart, in Charlottenplatz.

So goooood indeed, and so delicious stuff there. I went in my class break, that's why I took only two pictures and video to record the voice of the seller, which i found it so nice and easy to understand! No wonder, more you move to north, closer stander German "s- Hochdeutsch" you'll hear.

It will last until 20.07 and I'll go again to try something there and to listen the Hamburger Dialekt :))

Ramadan

Ramadan is a month when Muslims are suppose to fast. Fasting "s- Fasten", from sunrise to sunset, means (among many things): no food, no drink, no sex & to remind us that we should always be good, be nice, give charity...etc.

Duration of fasting is so much varied around the globe. It depends about the geographical location, where some places the day is around 8 hours and in other countries like Germany it is about 19 hours.

Anyway I decided to fast and see how it goes here. It's good so far, though I do fast about 15 hours (it's complicated to explain why not 19 hours..just pass over, please!!).

Ramadan is much about the spiritual side. It makes sense with company of the family. Well, unfortunately both of them are missing here.. BUT few days ago I got the chance to feel such feeling!! :D

Dear Maisoun Othman, a 2014 ifa CrossCultre participant from Egypt, just arrived few days ago to ... STUTTGART of course ;) ... and I'm her tutor during her internship! Yes, I know I know, I'll write soon about this experience :P

So Maisoun and I had the chance two days ago to attend Iftar organized by an Egyptian association in Altes Feuerwehrhaus. 

Well, it was WONDERFUL! The atmosphere was so lovely "lebhaftes Ambiente"! Lovely dinner with many Egyptians and Germans and...one Yemeni! hahahah

I liked that many Germans were there and shared this spiritual meeting. The spiritual music was on all the time in company with the DELICIOUS homemade fooooood :D
